Arizona Governor Doug Ducey is taking extra precautions to protect the Second Amendment rights of his state.
Ducey can see the storm that’s gathering on the horizon and understands that the Democratic chatter about banning firearms could easily become reality all too quickly.
For that reason he signed a bill on Tuesday prohibiting any local officials in Arizona from complying or helping with a federal gun ban or regulation.
“The state of Arizona and its political subdivisions are prohibited from utilizing any financial resources or state personnel to administer, cooperate with or enforce any law, act, order, rule, treaty or regulation of the federal government that is inconsistent with any law of this state regarding the regulation of firearms,” the bill reads.
Biden Gun Ban Incoming?
President Joe Biden said he will ban “assault” weapons and limit high capacity magazines after the recent shooting in Boulder, Colorado, where a lone psychopath mowed people down in a grocery store.
Biden’s gun control sympathies together with the massively rising crime rate and situation in the pandemic have driven gun sales through the roof over the past few months.
Gun control supporters are already lining up against Ducey for taking a stand, with the group Moms Demand Action gathering signatures on a petition. Democratic Senator Lisa Otondo scoffed at the idea that there is a need for the law as well, saying “nobody is trying to take away your guns, not for the protection of your family, your property, nor your Second Amendment right to own them.”
The thing is, Otondo’s promises are going to fall on deaf ears. Arizona is a state of strong gun rights support, and residents won’t just take her word that everything is fine.
Biden’s words and the legislative agenda of the Democrats are clearly leaning towards literally taking people’s guns or making them illegal and any promises denying that are unfounded. If there was no danger of gun buybacks, confiscations, regulations and more then why would Ducey even be doing the bill?
Everybody knows that gun control is high on the Democrat agenda, and taking steps to stop the infringement of gun rights before things get out of hand is a smart move.

Ducey: a Strong Record on Upholding the Second Amendment
Ducey has consistently stood on the side of the Constitution and upholding the Second Amendment. In an executive order in March he designated all firearm ammunition suppliers and retailers” as essential businesses, which stopped them from being closed during COVID lockdowns.
Other states have been using the pandemic as an excuse to rob Americans of their right to self-defense, arguing that the ability to buy guns and ammo is not an essential service.
As former CEO of Cold Stone Creamery based in Scottsdale, Ducey is a businessman himself and understands the reality of keeping businesses open as well. He also served as state treasurer from 2011 to 2015, so you can bet that Ducey grasps the reality of the damage that the lockdowns are doing to businesses. As a popular Republican governor, Ducey has served as Arizona Governor since 2015 after being elected in 2018.
We still don’t know exactly how the Democrats will go about accomplishing their agenda to disarm Americans and leave them prey to the criminal mobs now roaming this country, but we can be sure they will try to their fullest ability.
Ducey deserves to have some recognition go out for his smart step of signing gun laws that will make sure the federal government’s breaking of the Constitution doesn’t hit his state residents.
