America has a squatter epidemic. Squatters are individuals who occupy a home or apartment and refuse to leave.
They may pick somewhere that is abandoned or whose owners are currently away. In other cases, the squatter rents a room or home and then simply refuses to leave.
With the radical left giving more and more rights to squatters, it’s no exaggeration to say that the country has a crisis on its hands of no respect for property rights.
Why Is This Happening?
There are a few main reasons that so much squatting is taking place.
Firstly, America has a drug abuse and mental health crisis that feeds into the growing homelessness camps you can find in major cities like LA and New York.
The left throws more and more money at the problem, instead of doing anything deeper to solve it, which addicts spend on drugs and alcohol.
The increase in homelessness, rising costs, and radical left legislation giving more rights to squatters have combined to form a perfect storm.
Legally evicting a squatter isn’t just some simple process where police show up and drag someone out. It can take literally months to go through the proper legal channels to boot a squatter out of your residence.

How To Stop Squatters
Anyone reading this likely has one main question: how do I stop these parasites from choosing my home or property to invade? The first thing to keep in mind is that the majority of squatters move into places that are empty.
They especially head for apartments or homes where there has recently been an eviction of the prior resident, moving in like cockroaches to rapidly take over.
They are also known to move in after a death when a home or apartment is sitting empty for some time and they are able to force their way in, break a window or otherwise gain access without being noticed.
It’s crucial to have good security systems and a high-quality lock and door to keep these kinds of termites out, as they will almost always pick easy targets.

The Crisis is Real
The squatter crisis is extremely serious and it’s not easy to deal with. When you rent to somebody who then refuses to leave, it can be very hard to resolve.
Real estate lawyer Michael Zink said that in Chicago, where he works, an eviction process of a squatter can take up to eight months.
Once squatters are in your home or apartment and have changed the locks, the process to get rid of them takes time, money, and energy.
