Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Has Big Plans for the Future

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a rising star in the Republican Party and he has big plans for the future.

In a recent interview, former President Trump named DeSantis among the future of the conservative movement and the GOP, so he has some big backers as well.

As DeSantis has opened Florida – lifting lockdowns, mask mandates and encouraged employment – his poll numbers and name recognition have steadily risen, with DeSantis presenting Florida as an “oasis of freedom” that won’t limit your rights under the justification of COVID.

Last month, DeSantis also proposed a number of new regulations to make voting more secure and he’s consistently shown that he won’t be backed into a corner by progressive media scolds and establishment hacks.

Could DeSantis be the Next President?

“He certainly thinks he’s the heir apparent to Donald Trump at this point. He’s very proud of himself and he’s touting himself as being the next great wunderkind of the Republican party,” said Professor Monica McDermott of Fordham University.

Apart from McDermott’s obviously sarcastic tone, she’s correct. DeSantis had months of media attacks for not cracking down as hard on COVID and then opened in spite of all the noise only to see New York have far worse numbers than Florida. He proved the media wrong and got no credit from them in return.

DeSantis is the next wunderkind of the Republican party.

Think about this a little bit: while Democrats were cozying up to New York Governor Andrew “Grandma Killer” Cuomo, Republicans were getting behind DeSantis.

Cuomo is now accused of many cases of sexual harassment and horrific deaths of thousands of elderly New Yorkers. DeSantis is triumphantly leading Florida through an economic comeback for the history books and setting the stage for a 2024 run.

The Democrats weren’t just wrong, they were wrong to the point of killing people (as usual).

Florida’s Remarkable Comeback

As DeSantis recently pointed out, Florida has had 10 consecutive months of job growth and actually gained 735,000 private sector jobs between April 2020 and February 2021. It currently has an unemployment rate of only 4.7%.

While the rest of the country has entered endless quarantines, lockdowns and restrictions, Florida has embraced the American spirit and opened up: and it’s been rewarded with massive success. That took bravery to do, especially in the face of constant propaganda and inaccurate media and establishment predictions.

DeSantis is the youngest governor in the United States and has a wonderful family with his wife Casey and kids. He’s primed to run for higher office and is popular among the MAGA base.

Recently DeSantis had a panel discussion of health experts who backed him up on his position that lockdowns aren’t effective to stop coronavirus including Scott Atlas.

“The data could not be clearer that our state has fared far better than many others, particularly those that imposed harsh lockdowns on their residents,” DeSantis correctly observed.

DeSantis’ approval rating right now is 53% which is remarkably high, and he’s already shown that he can withstand severe media criticism in the same way Trump did. He’s no wilting daisy and he is willing to stand up for Americans when everyone else throws in the towel. America needs more states to be like Florida and less states to be like New York.

DeSantis will seek to be re-elected next year as Governor of Florida and continue building up his profile, and as the heat increases against him from the left he will only continue to become more popular among right-leaning voters.

Watch out for DeSantis, he has a bright future ahead.
