Nancy Pelosi Asks for Security Boost to Face ‘Enemies’ in Congress

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is raising eyebrows after her most recent demand.

She wants more funding to protect members of Congress who she says are in danger from the “enemy” within the House.

It’s obvious what Pelosi is implying: Republicans want to kill her and other Democrats.

Talk about unity, right?

Pelosi is Right About One Thing

The fact that Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor-Greene did jokingly refer to a death threat to Pelosi is unacceptable. Joking about shooting someone is stupid. But obviously Republicans are not about to literally take on Democrats in Congress.

One thing Pelosi is right about, however, is that Congress failed big time in properly protecting itself from disorder. This led to the events of Jan. 6, where a number of Trump supporters walked into the Capitol and some violence occurred leading to five deaths.

However, after the MAGA crowd was let in and could then be blamed as the new “bad guys” in this country, their role was done. The Democrats quickly called in tens of thousands of National Guard troops and set up large fences all around the Capitol grounds.

It’s unfortunate that Trump supporters fell for the trick sprung on them, but now that they have it is very unlikely the Democrats will ever let up on their fearmongering or hype of the threat they encouraged.

‘The Enemy is Within the House of Representatives’

Now from blaming all Trump supporters for the actions of a few individuals, Pelosi is saying there needs to be more security inside Congress not just with the fencing.

According to Pelosi, “the enemy is within the House of Representatives, a threat that members are concerned about. We have members of Congress who want to bring guns on the floor and have threatened violence on other members of Congress,” she added.

It’s clear here that Pelosi is referring to Rep. Lauren Boebert and Taylor-Greene. By scaring people about guns and portraying Republicans as gun-crazy lunatics, Pelosi scores a political two-in-one, spreading anti-conservative propaganda and increasing fear of people who are conservatives.

Many Republicans have opposed new metal detectors that you now have to go through before entering the House of Representatives, while Boebert has paid the fine instead of complying with turning in her gun. Republican Andy Harris of Maryland also set off the metal detector when he entered with a gun this month.

Capitol Police Said Security is Being Hiked Up

Acting chief of the Capitol Police Yogananda D. Pittman said security and fencing is being beefed up permanently because of the Jan. 6 events.

“In light of recent events, I can unequivocally say that vast improvements to the physical security infrastructure must be made to include permanent fencing, and the availability of ready, back-up forces in close proximity to the Capitol.”

Various Republicans including Elise Stefanik of New York have said they are strongly against permanent fencing, with others comparing it to something more like a fortress than a US government legislative building.

The simple truth is that Democrats now have a blank check to ramp up security as much as they want. President Biden not only feels emboldened to sign a huge list of far-left executive orders and put thousands of Americans out of work, it’s also clear that the Democrats as a whole feel brazenly unashamed of lying about their Republican opponents and portraying conservatives as dangerous fanatics who need to be targeted by law enforcement.

These are dangerous times for freedom.
