House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was eager to “punch out” then-President Trump on January 6, 2021.
Newly released video footage shows, against the backdrop of the January 6 House select committee, the hours during which US lawmakers were hiding from the Capitol protesters.
Pelosi’s Trump-Punching Desire Video
The video in which Nancy Pelosi vows to “punch” Trump if he came to the Capitol hours before it got breached was aired on CNN.
The footage was filmed by Alexandra Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, a filmmaker, and had never been shown publicly before, The Hill reported.
The House Speaker vows to “punch him out” if Trump would dare to arrive at the Capitol after he held his rally at the Ellipse in DC.
Pelosi can be seen in the video telling her staffers Trump shouldn’t come to the Capital while Congress, at the time, was preparing to certify the 2020 presidential election.
In a brief but furious tirade, the elderly California Democrat declared not only that she was “gonna punch him out,” but also that she had “been waiting for this.”
Pelosi vowed to punch Trump “for trespassing” on the grounds of the US Capitol. She added she was prepared to go to jail” for punching the president and she was “gonna be happy” about it.

‘Frantic’ Help Calls as Capitol Was Getting Stormed
Several previously unseen videos – described as “shocking” by a Daily Mail report – were played by the January 6 committee of the House of Representatives.
Some of the footage showed how Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer were making “frantic” calls to military leaders and other elected US officials to try to get help as the Capitol was being breached by protesters.
In one of the videos, Pelosi was calling Ralph Northam, the then-governor of Virginia, to beg him to send the National Guard.
At the same time, she and other US lawmakers hiding in secure locations were watching on TV how Trump supporters started to penetrate the Capitol grounds.
In the video, Pelosi could be heard calling the situation “horrendous,” and arguing it had been “instigated” by Trump
The video compilation in question was shown by the 1/6 committee at the end of its Thursday session. During this time, the nine members of the panel – seven Democrats and two Republicans – voted 9-0 to subpoena Trump himself to testify before them.
Besides that, the committee members also said they obtained drafts of a Trump speech in which he was going to say he won the 2020 election on October 31, days before the actual election.
The Democratic and GOP lawmakers also claimed Trump intended to declare victory in the election regardless of whether he lost and insisted he persisted with election fraud claims even though he knew he lost.
