President Trump Slams New Accusations Against Him

President Trump is responding to accusations made against him by former Secretary of State Mark Esper.

Trump let Esper go as head of the Pentagon in the fall of 2020. He served a little over a year as the Secretary of Defense, from July 2019 to November 2020.

According to Trump, Esper was “weak” and a completely ineffective leader, which is why he was let go. Here’s what Esper is saying about Trump and 45’s response…

What Are Esper’s Accusations?

Esper’s written a new book which comes out May 10. It’s called A Sacred Oath: Memoirs of a Secretary of Defense During Extraordinary Times. In this book, he launches a series of attacks against Trump.

Esper gave a preview of some of the biggest attention-getting experiences he claims to have had in an interview with the far-left program 60 Minutes.

Specifically, he argues Trump wanted to bomb Mexican drug cartels on Mexican territory, along with shooting BLM and Antifa protesters in the legs after the death of George Floyd.

Esper also said Trump tried to push through the Insurrection Act in order to have the legal right to deploy American troops during the summer of violence in 2020.

Trump said “no comment” about bombing cartels. However, he said it’s not true that he wanted to shoot rioters.

He also denies that Esper blocked him from putting through the Insurrection Act. We can recall Democrat governors like Tim Walz of Minnesota refused Trump’s offer of help to restore order to their states during the height of violence in the summer of 2020.

‘Just Shoot Them’

According to Esper, Trump asked why authorities couldn’t “just shoot” violent rioters during the summer of 2020.

Individuals were destroying property, attacking police, and trying to steal and kill in large gangs at the time Trump allegedly said this.

Trump says it’s not true, but declares Esper is also just trying to cover for being a weak loser who did anything Trump said and had no leadership qualities.

In fact, Trump said his nickname for him was “Yesper” because of what a yes man Esper was.

His incompetence led to Trump having to “run” America’s military, according to the former POTUS.

Here’s the Thing…

Violent rioters who were trying to kill police absolutely deserved an aggressive response. Shooting them in the legs actually would have been an act of mercy.

As for launching missiles at Mexican cartels, why not?

They are terrorists who are killing hundreds of thousands of our citizens, along with killing Mexican police and government officials every day. They deserve and require a joint US-Mexican military response.

As for the accusation that Trump wanted to invoke the Insurrection Act, which he denies. Even if it were true, it would be justified; large groups were rising up against the lawful government of the United States in the summer of 2020.

Esper’s book isn’t the “gotcha” he thinks it is. Not by a long shot.
