Trump Shows Up To Face Felony Charges In New York

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted on 34 felonies, which amount to the same thing. They all claim he lied on financial forms and did so to commit a crime.

The crime isn’t mentioned. However, the media referred to it as Trump’s payoff of adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about Trump sleeping with her, so as not to cause a scandal in his 2016 presidential run.

Trump defended himself soon after, appearing in front of a crowd at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Trump Rails Against Indictment

Following his court appearance, Trump railed against the indictment, saying it was part of the larger witch hunt against him.

Saying America is now a “failing nation,” Trump denounced the prosecutor in his case, noting the prosecutor’s daughter used to work for the Kamala Harris campaign.

Trump also said he could have prevented the war in Ukraine and the downward slide of the economy if he’d been in office.

An emotional crowd listened to Trump’s remarks as he slammed Joe Biden and the Democrats, saying they’re allied in a plot to keep him from power in 2024.

Trump Denies All Accusations

Trump says he did nothing wrong and denies the indictment. He says it is just another attempt to block him from power. Trump will appear next in person on December 4 in Manhattan before Judge Juan Merchan.

He has until early August for his lawyers to file whatever motions are wanted and the prosecution will then have until September 19 to react.

At this point, this is shaping up to be a long legal back and forth with a lot of potential to turn very bitter. Trump already says that elderly members of the Trump Organization were pressured into turning on him or spending the rest of their lives in jail.

The Bottom Line

It’s clear the Deep State will do anything possible at this point to go after Trump.

DA Alvin Bragg has more than enough real, life-threatening crime going on in New York without picking through old financial records to prosecute Donald Trump.
