A Strange Theft CASE Surrounds Epstein Estate

Dozens of firearms vanished from Jeffrey Epstein’s New Mexico ranch in 2018, but his staff refused to cooperate with police—even though they had documented every missing weapon the night after the robbery. The convicted sex offender wasn’t legally allowed to own guns, raising questions about why his team stayed silent.

The Mysterious Ranch Robbery

A massive gun safe was stolen from Epstein’s Zorro Ranch near Stanley, New Mexico, in late August 2018. The safe contained handguns, rifles, and antique weapons. Thieves broke a garage window, cut through a fence, and left tire tracks leading to a dirt road. Two nearby cabins were also burglarized, with antique lamps and another gun taken. Two rifles disappeared from a separate residence on the property.

Ranch staff moved quickly after discovering the theft. By the following night, they had compared serial numbers and created a complete inventory of the 33 missing firearms. One weapon was later found in ranch manager Brice Gordon’s house, though he kept changing his explanation about how it got there. Despite a state police officer repeatedly requesting the serial numbers for weeks, staff never provided them.

Staff Stonewalled the Investigation

Email records show ranch manager Brice Gordon asked Epstein whether to send the weapon list to New Mexico State Police so serial numbers could be distributed to pawn shops and gun shows. Epstein responded only by directing Gordon to his lawyer. The serial numbers were never shared. Staff stopped answering the investigating officer’s phone calls entirely. State police closed the case about one month later, citing lack of cooperation from Epstein’s team.

The Illegal Arsenal

Epstein was barred from possessing firearms under federal law after his 2008 felony conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution in Florida. He served 13 months in jail and one year of house arrest. Despite this prohibition, his remote ranch held an extensive gun collection. In a 2010 email, Epstein acknowledged he wasn’t allowed to possess firearms, asking an attorney if he could carry a gun on an African hunting trip. He instructed Gordon to keep “as many guns as you are allowed including high powered rifles” at the ranch when Epstein wasn’t visiting. New Mexico State Police confirmed the case may be reopened if new information surfaces.
